5-Year Extension Granted to Venezuelan Passports

In a show of alliance between Venezuela and the United States, a 5-year extension has been granted to all Venezuelan passports. The extension was granted by Venezuelan Interim President Juan Guaido in late May 2019. The United States and its Customs Border Patrol agency have approved the extension.

The extension adds another five years to Venezuelan passport validity after the expiration date already printed on the passport. As a valid form of passport extension, many expired passports can still be used in the U.S. for consular and visa processes. No other alterations to immigration requirements for Venezuelan passport holders were issued.
