Senior Attorney, Candida Paris, Speaks at the 2019 University of Texas’ Continuing Legal Education Conference on Immigration and Nationality Law

November 6, 2019 (Austin, TX)- Senior Immigration Attorney, Candida O. Paris, of the immigration law firm, Fong Ilagan, LLP, was invited to speak at the 43rd Annual Conference on Immigration and Nationality Law for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) hosted by the University of Texas (UT) School of Law in Austin, Texas.

Candida represented the firm in Austin at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel on Friday, October 24, 2019. She presented alongside Dallas immigration attorney, Rebecca Massiatte of JMA Firm, PLLC, on the O-1 nonimmigrant visa classification. The presentation titled, “The World’s Got Talent! The U.S. Might Have a Golden Buzzer for You,” focused on the O visa options for aliens of extraordinary ability in science, education, business, athletics, the arts, and tv and motion picture industries. “The O visa category is commonly overlooked as a great opportunity for foreign nationals seeking temporary employment in the U.S.,” says Candida. She continues, “I am glad to have had the opportunity to discuss this visa category with immigration attorneys. I hope the attorneys in attendance will consider the O nonimmigrant visa category when representing clients who qualify.”

The UT School of Law CLE for Immigration and Nationality Law is an annual event for attorneys practicing criminal law, family law, immigration and nationality law, and labor and enforcement law. “The annual CLE conference on Immigration and Nationality Law is an amazing opportunity for attorneys from all experience levels to come together and discuss the ever-changing climate of U.S. immigration,” says William Fong, Managing Partner of Houston immigration law firm, Fong Ilagan, LLP. He continues, “We are proud to have an experienced attorney such as Candida represent our firm at this important annual event.”

Candida has been practicing immigration law for more than 20 years and is licensed in the states of Texas and New York. She continues to serve clients’ immigration needs as a Senior Immigration Attorney at Fong Ilagan, LLP in Houston, Texas.
